The fifty-acre farm is half wooded and half pasture. Situated in hills, it has lovely pastoral views leading to the edge of the woodlands. We cleared an opening on the land and created the pastures for the garden areas and orchards. As we work on the plans and design layout, we thought it would be fun to share our vision with you, so you can follow the journey here at Wildwood.
The views of rolling fields will extend beyond the planned gardens to the grand old trees, that spread their limbs to protectively shade the forest floors and hidden paths winding their way through the forest areas. The branches create secret rooms beneath the skirts of the trees where you will find a resting spot on the benches that will be nestled along the way.
Azaleas will dapple some of the paths and will add to the beauty of the woods in the spring, along with the many dogwoods sprinkled throughout the woodlands. Together they will create canopies of white blossoms and bouquets of pink flowers in a spring showing. You will also find azaleas greeting you up the curving drive as you enter Wildwood.
The idea is to create new gardens with a grandeur and the feel of old gardens. We plan for the gardens to reflect a European style of gardens past. Both stone and brick will be used in different design elements.
The gardens will be a mix of flowers, roses, vegetables, and herbs, all framed with boxwoods and some berry shrubs, to create interest and balance.

Orchards will flank the gardens to create separate rooms. I love designing outdoor spaces to have rooms that lead to additional garden spaces. This creates an intrigue that pulls you through, creating a peaceful stroll that is Elegantly Southern Beautiful. These elegant spaces will lead to the pastoral views that stretch to the forest areas.
You will find rock steps to help climb or descend the hollows of the hills. We have natural stone throughout the land. All the stone used for the design elements will come from the land.
Planning and designing the grounds is exciting and we know that it will be a project that will take time to complete, but that's part of the journey. We are setting a backdrop for a future venue and creating Country Grandeur.
We love our beautiful farm life!
Thanks for coming here to spend time and walking through my front gate!
