A New Year for the Farm

Published on 2 February 2025 at 16:10

Our family spent Christmas in the mountains at the family cabin.  We had a wonderful time that was very relaxing and peaceful.  We brought the New Year in at home.  We are looking forward to starting some new projects on the land and beginning the much-anticipated start of the pastures, gardens, and orchards at Wildwood.

With the loss of our Minou, Rue, we have heavy hearts.  We will miss her very much!  We are moving forward with her sweet memory and a fresh start of maybe a new kitten.

We added two new Bramha hens to the farm this fall.  One blue partridge, which we named Lavender and one golden partridge, that we named Marigold.  We are looking to add six or seven more hens to complete our flock.  I think this spring will be a great time to do that.  Pictures coming soon!

As we finish the winter months, I have been working on finalizing design plans for the gardens and orchards of Wildwood.

It has been so exciting to lay out on paper, all the ideas and plans.

"What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness."

John Steinbeck

We love our farm life and look forward to sharing all the adventures.

Thank you for walking through my gate,
