On the First Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

The Partridge in the Pear tree - Jesus our Lord and Savior.

On the Second Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Two Turtle Doves - The Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible.

On the Third Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Three French Hens- The Theological Virtues.

Faith, Hope, and Charity

On the Fourth Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Four Calling Birds - The Four Gospels and/or Four Evangelists.

Gospel of Luke - Universal mission

Matthew - Jewish perspective

Mark - Gentile focus

John - Divine emphasis

On the Fifth Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Five Golden Rings (Gold Ring Pheasants - Five Books of the Old Testament, the Pentateuch, which gives the history of man's fall from grace.

The first five books of the Bible, Genesis, Exedus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, telling the story of God's creation, Covenant, Redemption of His people, Israel, Worship, and Inheritance of the people of God.

On the Sixth Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Six Geese a Laying - The Six days of Creation.

Day 1  Light created and divided from darkness

Day 2  Heavens created and divided from the oceans

Day 3  Land created and divided from water.  Vegetation created.

Day 4  Sun, Moon, and stars created to fill the heavens.

Day 5  Creatures created to fill the sky and water

Day 6  Creatures created to fill the land.  Man created as pinnacle of Creation.

Day 7  God rested 

On the Seventh Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Seven Swans -a -Swimming - The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, The Seven Sacraments.

Confirmation

Eucharist

Penance (or Confession)

Anointing of the Sick

Holy Orders

Matrimony

On the Eighth Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Eight Maids - a - Milking - The Eight Beatitudes.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the clean in heart,
for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

On the Nineth Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Nine Ladies Dancing - The nine Fruits of the Spirit,

Kindness

Goodness

Faithfulness

On the Tenth Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Ten lords - a - Leaping - The Ten Commandments.

You shall have no other gods before Me.

You shall not make any idols.

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

You shall keep the Sabbath day holy.

You shall honor your father and your mother.

You shall not murder.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Eleven Pipers Piping - The Eleven Faithful Apostles.

One the Twelfth Day of Christmas, My true love gave to me,

Twelve Drummers Drumming - The Twelve Points of Doctrine in the Apostles Creed.

The Apostles’ creed is the oldest statement of faith in the Christian church, written sometime in the second century AD. The creed defines core Christian beliefs about God, Jesus, the church, salvation, and other theological topics.

God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord.

Jesus' miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit through Mary.

Jesus' suffering, crucifixion, and death under Pontius Pilate.  He was crucified, died, and was buried.

Jesus' resurrection from the dead. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again.

Jesus' ascension into heaven and exaltation. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Belief in the Holy Spirit.

The communion of saints.

The forgiveness of sins.

The resurrection of the body.

The life everlasting.
